Women to get chance to drive the Metro and Mono Rails in Mumbai. After
Mumbai getting the female taxi driver, auto drivers, its time for Metro
and monorail to get Female Drivers. On the occasion of International
Women’s Day this Thursday, there will be recruitment dome for women
drivers for the Metro Rail and Monorail in Mumbai. The operators of
Monirail in Mumbai said that they are all set to train the women drivers
on this hi-tech and new transport service.
The President of the operator company said that the women drivers are working efficiently on Metro and monorail in other countries and he is confident that this will work in India as well. He added that any women applying in and having the required skills and qualification will be given preferance. The skill needed for this job will be diploma in engineering.
The Metro in Delhi has around twenty women drivers, the same will be done in Mumbai as well. For both monorail and Mumbai Metro the minimum qualification needed will be engineering diploma.
In BEST bus Service in Mumbai are too keen on getting women employees on board. The chairperson said, “They are planning interview for women who will be recruited for the post of conductors. We have plans especially for widows this will serve them as a helping hand.Similarly Western Railway already has taken few women on board. “Priti Kumari, the first motorwoman in WR, who was taken on board in October 2010
