State-owned oil firms are pushing for at least Rs 3 per litre hike in petrol price from April 1 to cover part of the spike in cost of raw material. "We are losing Rs 6.43 per litre on petrol and after adding 20% sales tax, the desired increase in rates in Delhi is Rs 7.72 per litre," a senior oil company official said.

MNIT direcor Mr.P.  Chakarborty inform the media today that the Student got a letter from Facebook offering job for him with a wonderful salary of 1.24 crore. The name of the student has been kept secret for some security reasons.

मुंबई लोकलच्या फर्स्ट क्लासच्या प्रवासी भाड्यात वाढ ( Mumbai Local increase rate to first class passenger )

मुंबई: महागाईने होरपळलेल्या मुंबईकरांना आणखी एक झटका बसला आहे. लोकलच्या प्रथम श्रेणीतील भाड्यात वाढ करण्यात आली आहे. ही वाढ अंदाजे ६ ते १५ टक्के असणार आहे.

रेल्वे अर्थसंकल्पात लोकल प्रवाशांना दिलासा देत असल्याचं चित्र रेल्वेमंत्री मुकुल रॉय यांनी उभं केलं होतं. मात्र  सोईस्कररीत्या त्यामध्ये प्रथम श्रेणीचा समावेश केला नव्हता. त्यामुळेच आता ही दरवाढ करण्यात आली आहे.

नव्या भाडेवाढीनुसार ५० किलोमीटरला २० रुपये, १०० किलोमीटरला ३० रुपये तर १५० किलोमीटरला ४० रुपये अशी  दरवाढ असणार आहे. आधीच्या घोषणेप्रमाणे द्वितीय श्रेणीच्या प्रवासासाठी कोणतीही दरवाढ झालेली नाही.

दरम्यान या वाढीव भाडेवाढीत ६६६ रुपयांची रक्कम असल्यास ती ६७० रुपये अशी राऊंड फिगर करण्यात येणार आहे.

Lahore: Legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh should be honoured in Pakistan as heroes are not limited to one country or religion and they transcend all borders in their fight against oppression, extremism and dictatorship, the head of a leading civil society group said today.

In a message issued to mark the death anniversary of Bhagat Singh, World Punjab Congress Chairman Fakhar Zaman noted that the freedom fighter was hanged in Lahore and his organisation had been trying for the past 20 years to erect a monument at the spot where he went to the gallows.

Bhagat Singh was hanged on March 23, 1931, in Lahore jail with his fellow freedom fighters Rajguru and Sukhdev.

The spot where they were hanged is currently known as Shadman Chowk and should be renamed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Zaman said.

"This is the time when civil society can put up the monument to pay homage to the great hero of Punjab," he said.

Zaman said he expected peace forums and intellectuals in both Pakistan and India, who are working for friendly relations between the two sides, to exert pressure on the Indian government to take up the issue.

He further said restrictive visa restrictions continued to be in place and new formalities make it impossible for an ordinary person to get a visa.

"When businessman can get multiple entry visas, then why not writers and intellectuals who are more important than the businessmen?" he said.

Zaman said he would lead a delegation of 70 Pakistani scholars, writers and educationalists to India in May.

After that, an International Conference on Peace will be held in Lahore under the auspices of the World Punjab Council and International Sufi Council.

Fifty delegates from abroad and 150 delegates from Pakistan are expected to participate in the meet.

मुंबईकिनारी जहाजावर स्फोट, 1 ठार ( Spot on Ship near Mumbai Seacoast)

द. कोरियाच्या रॉयल डायमंड-७ या मालवाहतूक जहाजावर आज दुपारी स्फोट होऊन उडालेल्या भडक्यात एक ठार तर ७ जण जखमी झाले.

जहाजातील स्टर्लिन गॅसचा हवेशी संपर्क होऊन आग लागल्याचे समजते. रसायनांनी भरलेल्या एम.टी. रॉयल डायमंड-७ या परदेशी जहाजाला मुंबई-अलिबाग सागरीमार्गावर बुचर आयलॅण्डजवळ १७ जानेवारीला आग लागून तिघे जखमी झाले होते. आगीच्या घटनेच्या चौकशीसाठी ते बुचर बेटाजवळच थांबवण्यात आले होते. आज त्यावर स्फोट झाला.

जहाजावरील स्फोट स्टर्लिंग गॅसमुळे

एम.टी. रॉयल डायमंड-७ वर अचानक घडलेल्या या घटनेमुळे जहाजावरील कर्मचार्‍यांत मोठी घबराट निर्माण झाली होती.

पावणेबाराच्या सुमारास जहाजातील स्टर्लिग गॅसचा हवेशी संपर्क झाल्याने स्फोट झाला. त्यावेळी तेथे असलेला कर्मचारी मेऑन च्योको हा पूर्णपुणे होरपळला गेला. तर अन्य सातजणही भाजून बाजूला पडले. मुंबई पोर्ट ट्रस्टच्या कर्मचार्‍यांनी तातडीने जखमींना बाहेर काढले. च्योको यांना मसीना रुग्णालयात नेण्यात आले. मात्र ते ९९ टक्के भाजले गेल्याने उपचारापूर्वी त्यांचा मृत्यू झाला.

तर किग मॅन होन (२९), मून च्यून पेट (५७, दोघे रा. कोरिया), अफाटो आयर दारखो ३४, फिलीपन्दस), शोभनाथ जगनाथ रावत (३६), राजा यमूनाप्रसाद रावत (३५) शनी शोभनाथ रावत (२५), तिरोत मातादीन रावत (३२) हे जखमी झाले आहेत. त्यांच्यावर सेंट जॉर्ज व जे.जे.हॉस्पिटलमध्ये उपचार सुरु आहेत.

उन्हाळ आला मुंबई तापली ( Hot Mumbai in March 2012 )

आखातातील वादळाचे धूळीचे कण मुंबईवरून निवळले आणि शहराच्या तापमानात तीन अंश सेल्सिअसने वाढ झाली. शनिवारी शहराचे कमाल तापमान ३५.३ अंश सेल्सिअस एवढे नोंदवण्यात आले असून, चढत्या पार्‍याने मुंबईकर हैराण झाले आहेत. 

मागील तीन दिवसांपासून मुंबईवर पसरलेले धूळीचे कण सूर्यकिरणांना अडथळे ठरत होते. त्यामुळे मुंबईच्या तापमानात किंचित घट नोंदवण्यात आली होती. शनिवारी मात्र पारा चढल्याने शहर, पूर्व आणि पश्‍चिम उपनगरात कमालीची उष्णता जाणवत होती. विशेषत: दुपारी वाहणार्‍या उष्ण वार्‍याने मुंबईकरांचा जीव नकोसा केला होता.

विदर्भाच्या काही भागांत कमाल तापमानात सरासरीच्या तुलनेत लक्षणीय वाढ झाली आहे. मध्य महाराष्ट्र आणि मराठवाड्याच्या संपूर्ण भागात कमाल तापमानात सरासरीच्या तुलनेत किंचित वाढ झाली आहे. राज्याच्या उर्वरित भागांत कमाल तापमान सरासरीच्या जवळपास नोंदवण्यात आले आहे.

राज्यात सर्वांत जास्त तापमान सोलापूर येथे ४१.३ अंश सेल्सिअस तर सर्वात कमी तापमान अहमदनगर येथे १४.७ अंश सेल्सिअस एवढे नोंदवण्यात आले आहे.

४८ तासांसाठी हवामान अंदाज आकाश काही प्रमाणात ढगाळ राहील. कमाल आणि किमान तापमान अनुक्रमे ३९, १७ अंश सेल्सिअस राहील.

Celina Jaitley delivers Healthy Twins Boys

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Celina Jaitley and husband Peter Haag became proud parents of two healthy boys today.

The twins have been named Winston and Viraaj.

"Yes our angels from heaven are here and we are very happy. Celina and the boys are doing very well healthwise too.

We just want everyone to bless our handsome boys," Haag said in a statement.

The 30-year-old actress and her Dubai-based Austrian businessman husband can't wait to get home to spend some quality time with the twins.

Jaitley a former Miss India Universe, announced her engagement to Haag in January and married him in July last year, at a thousand year old monastery in Austria. The couple are based in Dubai and will visit Mumbai very soon.

The Rajabai Tower in Mumbai

Mumbai is the place where with numerous attractive places to see. There are many memorable structures spread all around Mumbai.

The Rajabai tower one of the very well known structure the structure is a must see and is very admirable. The tower was designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, who was an English architect The Rajabai tower is situated very near to High Court in Southern part of Mumbai. The structure was of this building was laid in the year 1878. Rajabai tower is amount the tourist visit place in Mumbai. The total construction cost of the tower was Rs. 2 lakhs.

This is a Gothic construction with height of around 260 feet. The tower was constructed with the idea of manage time. There were 4 tunes played through a day. The tower is only left with Big Ben on the quarter hour.

Under the clock tower is the magnificent University Library, with what are undoubtedly some of the most exquisite stained glass windows in Asia. These have recently been treated by British conservationists and restored to their pristine glory. Well worth a look.

Mumbai School Bus Owners Decided to Increase Fees Rs 250-300

The Association of School Bus Owners in Mumbai finally declared hike in bus fee by Rs 250-300 per month. According the association said that this hike was done to manage the structural changes in buses which needs to be made according to new rules for the school bus safety policy.

Anil Garg the President of the association said that this hike was must needed, as without this hike they will not be able to manage the changes mentioned as per safety norms. "There is a dust storm in Rajasthan and its effects are being noticed here. Northerly winds are carrying the dust," Rajeev Nair, director of Met Dept, told.

"Once the wind speed increases, the dust haze will disperse. We expect that to happen by evening or at most by tomorrow morning."

Those allergic to dust should be careful," he said, adding that similar dust haze was also reported from parts of Gujarat and areas north of Mumbai, such as Dahanu.

Mumbai Taxi Unions decided to Increase Fares Rs 1.50 per km

Finally taxi unions in Monday accepted Re 1 hiked in the fare. This is an ad-hoc fare hike. The currently used fare calculating formula will be scrapped after this the new trade committee is going to be appointed very soon.
The taxi fares were revised on Monday, increasing by Rs 1.50 for every km travel.

A L Quadros The taxi union leader, said, Re 1 fare hike is accepted by them on a temporary basis. The union is not at all happy with this. They all want a new committee and a new formula for fare hikes.

The union also added that this committee is getting appointed since 2006 still it is in progress. Quadros added that the cost of living in Mumbai has risen. The Drivers have their own needs to be fulfilled, they have their families to be taken care, their children and to manage all these they need to get proper income.
A memorandum for this has been submitted to the authorities.

3Km World longest Wedding Gown New Guinness Book of World Records

 A hot air balloon floated over downtown Bucharest on Tuesday carrying a model wearing what is now regarded as the world's longest bridal train.

The nearly 3km ivory train on the model's wedding gown billowed out over a main boulevard in Romania's capital.

The Guinness Book of World Records has recognised the 2.75km item on the silk and lace gown as the longest train, beating the previous record (2488m) held by a Dutch designer.

But pedestrians didn't seem to make much of Tuesday's (local time) media event, which was organised by the artifact's creators: the Andree Salon fashion house and the organizers of this year's biannual Wedding Fair in Bucharest.

A few bystanders looked up at the balloon, but many others ignored it.

The train, which used 4.7km of material and took 100 days to create, was crafted by a team of 10 seamstresses, said salon spokeswoman Lavinia Lascae. The lace was imported from France, while taffeta and other fabrics were purchased from Italy, costing a total of 24,000 lei ($US7364.48), she added.

Beating a Dutch designer to the record had an added dimension for Romanians, as many are still angry after the Netherlands opposed its entry into the European Union's visa-free travel zone. Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte recently demanded that Romania and Bulgaria do more to reform their justice systems and combat corruption and organized crime before he would support integration.

"If the Netherlands does not allow us into Europe, we'll take them out of the world records book," said Alin Caraman, an organizer of the Wedding Fair.

यापुढे आता पालिकेची कुठलीही सेवा तुम्हाला आता घ्यायची असेल तर त्यासाठी तुम्हाला १० टक्के अधिकचं शुल्क मोजावं लागेल.

इतकच नाही तर व्यापाऱ्यांना लागणाऱ्या लायसन्स फीमध्ये ७५ टक्क्यांनी वाढ करण्यात आलीय.
पालिकेच्या सेवांमध्ये वृक्ष प्राधिकरण अंतर्गत येणाऱ्या सेवा, पालिकेची मैदानं, पालिकेचे हॉल, साफसफाई आणि सर्व प्रकारच्या डागडुजीच्या कामांचा समावेश आहे.

दुसरीकडे पालिकेनं पाणीपट्टीतही घसघशीत वाढ करण्याचा प्रस्ताव ठेवलाय. त्यामुळं मुंबईकरांची पाणीपट्टी १४ ते ६७ टक्क्यांनी वाढण्याची शक्यता आहे. आता या प्रस्तावाला स्थायी समितीत मान्यता मिळते का हे पाहायचंय. पाणीपट्टीत वाढ झाली तर पालिकेचं उत्पन्न ३१३ कोटींनी वाढेल.

2012 Budget BMC Increasing Taxes on Water, Sewerage and other

Mumbai: For the first time in a decade, the BMC on Tuesday presented a pragmatic budget by increasing taxes on water and sewerage by up to 58% while allocating Rs 9,359 crore to infrastructure projects.

The Rs 26,581 crore civic budget - larger than the outlays of some of the smaller Indian states - has doubled the allocation to augment the city's road network and added over 800 beds in municipal hospitals. Some of the highlights:

Rs 800 crore for concreting 241 km of roads;

City to receive additional 455 million litres of water daily from July;

Rs 263 crore allocated for development of open spaces;

807 additional beds in 20 civic hospitals;

Rs 50 crore for widening Mithi river;

90 m snorkel for the fire brigade at a cost of Rs 15 crore;

20,000 new litter bins for 10,000 locations;

Virtual classrooms to be extended to 400 civic schools;

Development of an estuarine park near Mahim creek;

The BMC estimates an income of Rs 26,581 crore this year and plans to spend Rs 26,474 crore.

Mumbai to New Delhi AC Duronto Express Train startin from 23rd March

New AC Duronto Express Train service from Mumbai Central to New Delhi started on Sunday. The Train was flagged by Sunil Prabhu the mayor of Mumbai.

The train started from Mumbai Central on Sunday at 12.25pm and will be reaching Delhi 10.10 in the next morning.

The Train will serve on the regular basis from 23^rd march from Mumbai Central and from New Delhi it will start from 20^th March. This Duronto Express will leave Mumbai at 11.15 in the night on every Monday & Friday of the week starting March 23 and will touch New Delhi at 4.55 in the evening. From New Delhi it will start at 11.30 in the night on every Tuesday and Saturday and will arrive at Mumbai at 5 in the evening.

BJP hits Shirdi Sai Baba, Bombay High Court dismisses trust

Mumbai : The Bombay High Court ordered the collector of Shirdi Sai trust to overlook the formation of a new committee within 15 days.

The Aurangabad bench of the court ordered dismissal of Saibaba Sansthan Trust, Shirdi on Tuesday, Mar 13. Rajendra Gondkar and Sandip Kulkarni - the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Shirdi president and a social activist, respectively, earlier had filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against the trust.

After citing the PIL filed by the duo, the Bombay High Court passed the order. Sai Baba temple, one of the richest in India, is being governed by the trust. The temple is located at Shirdi in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra.

Sachin Tendulkar hit Chentury of 100

Rise, cheer, shed a tear, or just clap in awe. The milestone – which for some was awaited with bated breath, for others seen as merely a number, for some a zenith – has finally arrived. He searched it the world over, for over a year, not knowing that the landmark would come near to home. And today, March 16, 2012, he finally found it, in Bangladesh. Sachin Tendulkar is a 100-century man.

A hundred international centuries sounds insane, almost nonsensical, but it is no longer a myth or illusion. It is an uncomplicated truth, one that makes the record book feel a lot heavier. It would be foolish to think that the landmark weighed Tendulkar down so as to affect his game. When 99 centuries weren't easy, how could the 100th be any less difficult?

Today, in Mirpur, Tendulkar walked in with 22 years tucked under one arm and his bat in the other. The poise hadn’t eluded him, even if the old curls had. The aplomb was just the same, like his 761 innings before today. The good old buckled pads, the customary stoop before taking his stance, that nod of appreciation after getting beaten were the same as that Old Trafford afternoon of August 14, 1990 – the day he got to his first century.

The change in reception from his fans had changed, however, over the last year. The focus somehow shifted from Tendulkar to a number – the 100th century. It seemed fans had sent the 99 he scored into oblivion and were just homing in on the 100th, almost breathing down the man’s neck. He was cursed and cried for at the same time, for over a year; 370 days to be precise. The moment Tendulkar strode in, that 100th hundred flashed before everyone, which is almost disrespectful to the mountain of runs he had erected and the wins he help fashion.

After today, nobody can deny that Tendulkar has not been a part of their lives. Did we not grimace when he batted in pain? Not shed a tear at his father’s demise? Were we not insulted when he was accused of ball tampering? Did we not jump in joy as he piled on the records?
Tendulkar has almost been a source of life, and each of us living in the Tendulkar era admire him for our own set of reasons. Some fell in love with his straight drive, some admired him for his grounded nature. Some marveled at his love for the game, some saluted the century he scored in 1999 after coming back from cremating his father. Others kept cursing him for getting out at the doorstep of victory. While not refraining from blowing him a kiss when he uppercut Shoaib Akhtar for a six over third man. Some puffed their chests to say 'I was there when he scored an ODI doube', some were just content to watch him play. He’s been there for all of us.

But somehow, at the end of India's innings on Friday, Tendulkar sounded a bit cross. Largely for people circling over him for this 100th century, for discounting the 99 he scored for the one that just got delayed. He sounded as if the fans left him alone, in the twilight.
"Wherever I went ... hotels, housekeeping, all talked about this. I'm not playing for my 100th hundred. Nobody spoke about my 99 hundreds," he said.
A man who has been an unconditional source of happiness was feeling aggrieved. People counted matches, innings, days, months, years until today when Tendulkar served those mathematical minds his 100th international century. Such minds reduced an ambassador of the game to a run-monger.
But this is Tendulkar. If criticism would have affected him, milestones would have been far and few in between. He takes criticism in his stride, plays on, more for his team than for himself. Few may question that, but Tendulkar is and will always be a team man.
We can only hope after this that Tendulkar settles down and takes a long, hard look at what he has achieved, what the game has already given him. If he still feels the urge, then he should play on. But if somewhere, deep within, he feels the body is not the same, that the strength is deserting him, then he should take decisions.
Playing only Test cricket is one way to go. But nobody, nobody but Tendulkar knows that and decides that.
So let the 'superhuman' grab an armchair, put his feet up, close his eyes and soak in this moment. Contemplations can be left for a bit later.

मुंबई दूरंतो नहीं चलेगी सातों दिन ( Nagpur - Mumbai Duronto Express not Run 7 Days )

दिल्ली दूरंतो केवल कागजों तक सीमित आनंद शर्मा । नागपुर, 14 मार्च गत रेल बजट में नागपुर-मुंबई दूरंतो को सप्ताह में सातों दिन चलाने की घोषणा की गई थी. आज वर्ष 2012-13 के लिए रेल बजट तो पेश हो गया, लेकिन यह ट्रेन अब भी घोषणा के अनुरूप सातों दिन नहीं चल पा रही है. मध्य रेलवे के महाप्रबंधक सुबोध जैन ने पिछले दिनों नागपुर दौरे के दौरान यह उम्मीद बंधाई थी कि ट्रेन की रैक और पॉवर (इंजन) की व्यवस्था होने पर रेल बजट के पूर्व इसे सातों दिन चलाया जाएगा. लेकिन उम्मीदों पर पानी फिर गया और घोषणा धरी की धरी रह गई. ऐसे में जब पुरानी घोषणाओं पर अमल करने में ही लेटलतीफी हो रही है, तो फिर नई 75 ट्रेनें कब से चलना शुरू होगी? यह कहना बेहद मुश्किल है. बहरहाल, नागपुर को यह कहकर भी ठगा गया कि नागपुर-दिल्ली के बीच दूरंतो ट्रेन चलाई जाएगी. इसकी घोषणा पूर्व रेल मंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने भी अपने बजट भाषण के दौरान की थी. लेकिन इस ट्रेन का कोई अता-पता नहीं है. लोकलुभावन घोषणाओं की झड.ी लगाते हुए ममता दीदी ने नागपुर सहित देश के अन्य कुछ शहरों में रेलवे मेडिकल कॉलेज खोलने का वादा किया था. लेकिन यह वादा केवल कागजों तक सीमित नजर आ रहा है. घोषणा के बाद से अब तक का पूरा समय केवल जमीन खोजने में बीत गया. गोधनी और खापरी में रेलवे मेडिकल कॉलेज के लिए जमीन तय की गई थी. इनमें से एक पसंद भी आई थी.
