The social networking site - Facebook has come up with a unique feature
which will help its users prevent suicide. Providing a direct link to an
online chat with counsellors, the site will help people to save one's
life.
Facebook users should click on the report option next to any piece of content on the site. And then select the suicidal content under the harmful behavior option.
After receiving the suicidal report, Facebook will contact the concerned person through email.
The social networking site will email the phone number along with a direct link for a private online chat with a counsellor from National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
Facebook spokesman Frederic Wolens said, "This was a natural progression from something we've been working on for a long time."
However, users can also submit their report on suicide by clicking on the site's Help Center or search for suicide reporting forms.
