It was on 12 December, 1911, that then Emperor of India George V
proclaimed Delhi as the capital of the British Raj, shifting from
Kolkata, thereby returning to the city its lost glory. As Delhi
celebrates 100 years of being the nation's capital, we look at those
iconic buildings which defined Delhi as it was created by the British.
The grand Connaught Place market, Raj Bhavan, the Indian Parliament and
of course India Gate are just some reminders of the British
architectural legacy in Delhi.
