Special training to Mumbai kids on fielding By Jonty Rhodes

Former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes is set to train young cricket players in Mumbai in fielding by a specially-designed programme.

Launched by Omtex Sports Academy, "Jonty's Way" will provide training to cricket associations, schools, clubs and players of all age groups for periods ranging from three to 15 days by Jonty Rhodes himself.

The South African who was world-renowned for his fielding stressed on the importance of fielding. He was quoted in TOI as saying, "My batting stats never make an interesting reading, but some of my dismissals over the years stand out for people to sit up and take notice. My contract with the Mumbai Indians goes till the IPL in 2012 and my effort has been to teach the young Indian players the techniques of fielding and diving that I have developed over the years."

Rhodes believes India needs to produce more talented fielders like Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina to amke an impact on international level.
